Arrived the office at 8.40am. Heavy rain this morning but it definitely made the weather cooler for travelling. Met Phoebe and Stephen at the Bendemeer market and chatted with them till we almost forgot we need to work.haha! (This is what happen when we parents get together to talk about our kids...never ending 0.0)

Last night Mother's Day Event, the invited speaker, Kelvin Soh (a former drug addict) made a wonderful testimonies. He performed quite a number of songs and I was impressed when he actually told us that he wrote all those songs by himself. The very first song was written while he was still in prison. In the midst of his performance, a warm loving sense of God's Love filled up the entired restaurant. I knew the Lord was with us :) Very calm, very peaceful...

Our God is indeed a God of turnaround. When his path seems to have come to the end of road, when everyone seems to have given up hope on him, our Lord didn't. Not only did he renew his life, He opened a fresh path for him where he no longer needs to walk in darkness but in light.

He told us...for 20 years, he has been in and out of the prison. Each time, he would confessed to change over a new leaf but it never happened. Eventually, he turned to drug again and just like this....he was sent in & out of prison for 20 years. While he was once again sentenced to 5 years imprisonment with 3 strokes of rotan, that was the time he received his "Wake Up" call.
After the rotan session, he was put right back into his cell. Because of the wound on his back, he couldn't sit or sleep....so he turned to a prison officer to request for some comics book.

To his surprise, the prison officer (a Muslim) came back with a bible on his hand and handed him the bible. (Can you imagine that, God used even a Muslim officer to reach out to him...wonderful, isn't it!) Now, inside this bible...there was a bookmark. Somehow or rather, he turned to the bookmark page...it happened to be Hebrew 12:5-6 which says :

5 你 们 又 忘 了 那 劝 你 们 如 同 劝 儿 子 的 话 ， 说 ： 我 儿 ， 你 不 可 轻 看 主 的 管 教 ， 被 他 责 备 的 时 候 也 不 可 灰 心 ；
6 因 为 主 所 爱 的 ， 他 必 管 教 ， 又 鞭 打 凡 所 收 纳 的 儿 子 。

English version:

5And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, 6because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

The word "鞭 打" triggered off and for a moment, he felt that the Lord was speaking to him. After reading, he knelt down and confessed and prayed that the Lord will help him mend his way. That day onwards....his life changes.

We will never understand how God works but we can be sure that as long as we confessed to him sincerely and bring every of our requests before him, He will be there for us.

This is just how Awesome our God is. Hallelujah!
