Celebrating Cindy's Birthday.
Brought the boys over to mum's place on Wednesday night to celebrate Cindy's birthday. Bought a cake from Sweet Secret and yum...the cake tasted GOOD!Here's some pixs...dun drool!

Devotion
Ephesians 6:16
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Spent some time on His word earlier. " Extinguish" - in the dictionary explain to put out (a light or fire). That explain why the word "flaming" came about. I checked on NKJ version...it quoted : above all, take the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all fiery darts of the wicked ones.
So, this shield is a "Watery shield"....because if it is wooden, then the fiery darts will burn it up!
Interestingly, "Watery Shield"...so where did the water come from ? Back in John 7:38, Jesus said, "Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." The next verse (John 7:39) says, by this he meant the spirit.
Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit, which he likened to rivers of living waters flowing out of us.....So, when we pray in Spirit, rivers of living water will flow, quenching / extinguish the devil's fiery / flaming arrow thrown at us!

It's raining cats and dogs outside....
This morning was cooling. In fact, last night we can go without switching on the air-con. Was telling HN that the weather is so unpredictable...just awhile ago, I saw the sun...and now, the sky is grey.
Perhaps, that's explain why many people are down with flu...
Had a chat with Jessie earlier over the phone. Got to know both her boys were down with fever too. :( It must been hard for her to cope...but thank God, they are fine now.
I wanna give thanks to God for Zenden's fever had subsided. Anyhow, he is still on medical leave till Wednesday for the doctor need to review his condition again. I pray that God will restore his body to perfect health. Next month will be a busy month for me as well as many other parents - Final year examination. Just got the examination schedule from Mrs Singh and last paper will be on 1st week of November...Hmm...abit late compared to last year. Good & bad I guess, at least there is more time for preparation. Can't wait for it to be over tho!

Down with Gastric Flu :(
Zenden was admitted to TMC on Friday for vomiting, diarrhoea and fever.He was put on drip to rest his stomach. Today, he was much better as he regained his appetites. However, the fever seems to be going up and down :(
Dr Ang did a blood test and the result was ok.
I pray that the fever will subside in Jesus' name. Amen!

Dead Sea Scrolls
Our family visited The Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit last Friday at The Art House. The exhibit was packed and we had to find our way through to the ticketing counter. Guess what the staff told me over the phone the other day was right. I called to check if I could buy the tickets over the counter instead of online. She kindly advice and added that it would be better for me to visit the exhibit on weekdays instead of weekends.
Looking at the crowd....I fully understood what she meant.
Anyhow, we managed to secure the tickets and made our way into the exhibit.
It was heartwarming to know that God's Word surpasses time and will always remain intact for all. The curator said that the only intact book of the bible they found was Isaiah...and some of the parchment fragments they showed had grace teaching in it :-)
After visiting all the exhibits...we headed down to the cafe for coffee and cheesecakes...my only regret for that night was...I FORGOT to bring my camera along!!!

Where Are The Stars?
Sitting at my working desk, looking out of my room window while typing this blog, I realised something is amiss...I cannot trace a single star in the sky. I stretched myself a little to see further...yes, not a single one in the sky tonight. But strange enough, I still find the sky very beautiful tonight. I realised I have not been looking up to the sky for a long time...perhaps that is the reason why I find tonight wonderfully beautiful.
It reminded me of God's creation...Ever wonder why God coloured the sky blue? I remember in the book of Numbers, where God commanded every Israelites to make tassels on the corner of their garment with a blue cord on each tassels to remind themselves of all the command of the Lord. Blue - a colour of Grace...reminds me of God's grace. Whenever we are weigh down by earthly matters, we have the blue sky to remind us of God's grace.
So...never mind where all the stars gone to...cause I will see blue sky when I open my eyes in the morning. :-D

Hi-5 Surprise! Live Tour 2009
Zayden enjoys watching Hi-5. He enjoys the dancing and singing along. Knowing that the group will be in town this month, he asked if I could bring him to the show.I bought a family package tickets (buy 3 get 1 free), thinking I could bring Royce along since he would love to watch too.
The indoor stadium was packed with crowds when we arrived. The kids were so eagered and excited as they waited for the show to begin. 1 hour and 30 mins of singing and dancing never seems to be enough. Kids, forever so energetic!

The Key I love is Black and White
Praise be to God! Zenden passed his Piano Examination :-)
I vividly recalled that morning before bringing him for the examination. Like many parents would, I acted "Cool" but honestly, I was a little 'Kan Cheong' asif I was the one taking the examination. Imagine, a young child to enter a big (I mean "real Big") studio alone, playing a piano standing right in the middle of the studio for a stranger whom he never met before can be a stressful thing. But Thank God, Zenden was all cool that morning. He was calm and definitely God's presence is with him. He simply look fearless.
While waiting for his turn, we had a little conversation.
Me: Zen, how you feeling?
Zen: Hmm..ok.
Me: Don't think of the examiner, just play as you are playing for Jesus. He is with you in the room. Just play for Him.
Zen: ok.
Me: Remember if you can't hear the examiner clearly, remember to say "Pardon me?"..don't "Har..?!?!"
Zen: Ok..
Me: After greeting the examiner, adjust your seat properly, take your time...pray...when you ready, then you begin, understand?
Zen: I know.
Here comes his turn....and 10 minutes later, he came out.
Me: How? Did you complete all songs?
Zen: Ok...I played all without stopping.
Me: Oh, good job. It's finally over.
Zen: Mummy, the examiner is so funny. The way he talks so funny. He said I play well.
Me: Oh..because he is from London so maybe you are not use to the way he speaks. Guess what, I sort of saw him when the door opened just now, hmm...he look alittle like Santa Claus ;p
Zen: Hahaha....yaya. :-)

Learning Together
One thing which I have benefited from serving the Children Ministry is memorizing of bible verses. As we encourage the children to remember new bible verses each time, I am encouraging myself to remember them as well.
Having the children repeat the verses again and again actually helps them and myself to remember them. It is indeed a very useful and effective methods, no wonder my Jesus chose to use this method as well. Many times in the bible, Jesus chose to repeat a particular word or sentence to emphasis on its importance, to help us to remember His word.
I used to have problem remembering verses but definitely, I am better now :-)
As I learn together with the children, I find remembering those verses aren't that difficult after all. *Wink*

Night out watching 'The Proposal'.
We left the kids at home last night and went out for a movie, together with Ken & Cindy. It has been a long time since we had such a good laugh. This comedy show was awarded 5 stars or at least 4 stars on the review list. Main actress-Sandra Bullock, is one of my favourites. My laughing hormone was all activated the moment she appeared on screen. She played as "Margaret",a high-powered book editor who was facing deportation to her native Canada. Didn't want to lose all her position, she actually declares that she was in love with her assistant, Andrew(Ryan Reynolds) and they are planning to get engaged.
Andrew agreed to help her with a few conditions of his own. The couple then headed to Alaska to meet with his family and the always-in-control city girl finds herself in one comedic fish-out-of-water situation after another. With an impromptu wedding in the works and an immigration official on their tails, Margaret and Andrew reluctantly vow to stick to the plan despite the precarious consequences.
Did Margaret gets what she wanted? What happen to both of them in the end? Go watch it yourself..haha...it's worth the laughter.

Husband and wife, Do you give thanks to each other?
Dara posted this question across the table last night. I took a moment thinking...when was my last time giving thanks to Terence? I cannot recall. Cannot recall is an indication that I must have not been doing that since don't know when. Then I started asking myself, How come?...why?...Is it because I have gradually taking for granted that as my husband, he should know what's my need and want and I expected it to be delivered?
God's word written, Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Right! Why I see Terence as only "husband", why didn't I see him as a member of one body? I ought to remember that he is not only my hubby, but he is also a member of one body.
Hmmm....turning point.
