I recently brought Zayden to our nearby CC to have a look at the art classes there. Surprisingly, I am rather impressed with their set up. Neat rows of tables and chairs with wall filled up with Children's artwork, in a nice air-conditioned room. After much consideration, I decided to sign him up at the CC last week & last sat was his first day there. He was really excited.

The class size was about 10, made up of age group from K1 to P3. Some were existing students and some were first timer just like Zayden. I stayed till the teacher arrived, just to get to know her and ensure that Zayden is comfortable to be under her guidance. Well, thank God, he seems to like the teacher. I left him shortly after reminding him to "Listen to the teacher".

The lesson lasted for 1.5 hours and when I got there to pick him up, I peeped through the window and saw him giving his artwork a final touch. I was happy to see that he enjoyed his lesson. Before we left...the teacher told me, "hmm...not bad his drawing..see?" (showing me his work). I thank God for encouraging teachers because their encouragement is important for building up a child's confident.

First post after CNY...guess you are expecting some goody pictures from me but nah...I was busy for the past 2 days cos my young boy was warded to TMC for fever, diarrhoea and vomiting. That left both hubby & myself sleepless night as we attended to him.

Zayden was feeling unwell on the 2nd day of CNY. He started having fever in the afternoon and by night time, he was complaining about having tummy ache. We drove him to TMC 24 hours clinic and the doctor prescribed some medication to ease him. Throughout the night, he did not sleep well as the pain comes & go, followed by diarrhoea. We decided to head back to the clinic again, this time, took back more medication. The medication did not work well and he started to vomit this time round. We waited till morning to see how was he feeling but he seems to be whining more. Then again, we decided to go back to the doctor again.

This time, the doctor suggested that he should stay in since we have been going back to the clinic 3 times. Hubby was reluctant so we signed off a document to leave "at our own risk". Things did not get better for him, the cramp was attacking on & off that he started to cry... I felt so helpless that I could only watch & not able to help him in any way.

Finally, at 11 plus, hubby decided to bring him to Dr. Ang but her clinic was flooded with patients! In the end, we went back down to the clinic to request for admission. (This is a faster way since we already have the record there) Dr. Ang came later in the ward to examine and in no time, Zayden was put on drip. His stomach was too upset to take in any food or drink, putting on the drip was the only way to let his stomach REST. By night time, the pain was gone and he could intake a little bread and Milo. The next day, his drip was remove and we fed him some porridge to "Test the Market", his stomach was recovering and Dr. Ang finally said, "Discharge today!"

Goooooood Morning! Today is the last working day before I take a 5 days break for the CNY. Yeah! Not so much on celebration but to truly REST. For the past few days, I have been busy delivering oranges to my customer located at North,South,East and West of Singapore.Yes, it is very "siong" to run around like this! Then, back at home, we were also preparing for the new year stuff like the goodies & packet drinks etc etc.

My father-in-law blessed us with NTUC voucher and that is a great saving for us this year. Thanks, Dad!
We had some new deco at home...first time ever, I bought pussy willow to display in our living room to add a little more "spark" to this NY season. (I realised it really brighten the mood of NY..hee)

Tonight, I will be preparing the ingredients for cake making tomorrow. As requested by my sis-in-law, to make a strawberry cake to bring over to my in-law house for makan. I have decided to make 2 since Zenden love to eat this too. That will keep me busy in the kitchen tomorrow.

Last but not least, my family wishes all a HAPPY & PROSPEROUS CHINESE NEW YEAR!

This week was really a busy week for me at work & home.
Our principle from UK was in Singapore and hence, I was busy entertaining him while he was here the last few days. Zenden was also having his topical test in school this week and we were busy revising all the schoolwork to prepare him for the test.

Finally, I have some time this afternoon to bake some cookies. I tried new stuff today - Oatmeal Cookies with Cranberries. Below are the pictures of the freshly baked...just out from oven.

Finally I took the time to download all these past month pictures to blogger. Below are some pictures took last month while we were shopping @ Marina, using the mobile phone.

I was looking around for Art Classes which is suitable for Zayden's age group. I googled and a super long list of Art schools came rolling in for my selection. I short listed a few which I think is good and started to make phone calls to find out more.


After much consideration, I decided to bring Zayden for a trial class offered for free from Kinderart. Kinderart specialised in teaching young children from age 4-9. They worked with many kindergartens around Singapore. The Lady who attended to my call was really patient and I was impressed by their service. One additional advantage about Kinderart is that the teachers do arrange monthly outdoor excursion to allow the children to have a feel of outdoor painting. Parents are allow to join in and take it as a family gathering as well.

I have booked a place for the trial this weekend. Let's see if Zayden enjoy his trial lesson there...
