Disney On Ice is coming again in March 2010!
Not wanting to disappoint Zayden, I decided to bring the boys to the show during their term break in March. Zenden had been to watch Disney on Ice for a few times when he was young but not Zayden. He wasn't born then. So to be fair...I decided to bring him this time. At least, he experiences how it was like watching Mickey & Minnie skating on ice in the Indoor Stadium.

I browsed through the Sistic Website to check for discount (if any)...but found none. *LOL*
So, the terrible me decided to give a call to Sistic just to confirm..haha! (& YES, Confirm NO DISCOUNT! :-( ) I remembered having discount in the past but not sure why it is so different this time round. Anyway, with or without, I will still need to purchase the tickets.

Gave a call to hubby to confirm if he is coming along and his reply was funny!

Me: "Dear..Disney on Ice, u coming along?"
Hub: "Eh...how much?"
Me: "$40.50/ticket. Why ask...also not you paying.."
Hub: "No mah, if expensive, I don't go, at least can lighten your burden mah."
Me: "No different lah."
Hub: "then ok lor."

So thoughtful of him tho...haha...but going together as a family will certainly make the trip more fun for all. Bonding time is precious!

Not wanting to waste my weekend away, I settled to bake some cookies and here are some pictures of them.

Valentine Day is drawing near. Yet, I hardly hear anyone talking about it. Instead, everyone is talking about Chinese New Year is coming soon...in just 2 more + weeks. Do you realise that? Perhaps, we are Chinese & so, Chinese New Year is more "Important" in the sense? I don't know. Personally, I don't really fancy CNY. To me, it is just a rest week for me, that's all.

Of all the occasions, I love Christmas Best. The overall feel of Christmas is just so nice. I used to enjoy Valentine's Day during school days. I remember all the girlfriends exchanging Rose with one another..weird right? not boys to girls but girls to girls..Haha! Then, as I entered into work force, I find not worthy to spend $$ buying flowers, especially on Valentine's Day tho it is nice to hold it while scrolling along Orchard Road. *LOL*

Of cos, there are people who think otherwise...else the Florists will all close shop:p

I would rather exchange the $$ spend on flower for food. Say I'm 贪吃 or whatever, I feel that it is more worthwhile to spend on food than something that will wither.

However this year, I don't think we got the time to celebrate Valentine Day mainly because there will be house visiting, a new way of celebrating Valentine with others.

Many of you know what is a Lady Finger and how it look like. Do you know the other name of Lady Finger? Yes? No? It is alright if you don't cos I am going to tell you now :-)
Lady Finger is also known as Okra. You can easily buy them from the market or any supermarket. It is easily accessible and maybe because of that, I have miss out the very valuable source of it's nutrition.

Last 2 weeks, I attended Delia's Church Wedding and I happened to be place seated together with Josie,David, Evon & Suat Ngoh. As usual, we eat and chat. I cannot remember what is the topic about but somehow or rather, we started to talk about food. It was during this time Evon began to share with me the Goodness of Lady Fingers. She asked if I did receive her email about this, I did but I was like holding that "Don't bother to read" attitude, thinking it was just another ordinary email. I told her honestly and I thank God that she wasn't unhappy with my reply but instead kindly told me, "oh..since we are here, let me tell you about it again."

She shared with us her testimony and soon...the whole table of us were all ears listening to her. You know what follow after that...all the "Wow", " REALLY!", " I GOT TO TRY IT" response were floating around the table.

Hubby and my mom began to try out and just last Monday, when my mom went for her routine check up, her blood pressure dropped from a high point of 150 to 106. A good sign!
Her sharing blessed us and so I hope to share this with you here so that you will be bless too.
Here is what you do...

1) Prepare an empty cup.
2) Take 2 Ladyfingers, Wash clean, cut both the head & tail off, leaving only the middle body.
3) Now you have got 2 pieces of middle body.
4) Further divide the middle body into 2. Now, you should have 4 smaller parts.
5) Place these 4 parts into your cup.
6) Fill it up with normal (room temperature) drinking water.
7) Make sure the water cover the entire lady fingers cos the fingers will kind of float after water is added.
8) Cover the cup & let it overnight. (It is the best to do it at night before you go to bed)
9) Drink the water the next morning when you wake up. (No need to eat the Lady Fingers, only consume the water.)

*Repeat the above steps daily.

It can help with the following health condition.

1) It helps relieve constipation.
2) It helps control blood sugar as it curbs the rate at which sugar is absorbed from the intestinal tract.
3) It helps in healing acid reflux.
4) It helps in treatment of urinary tract infections.
5) It contains insoluble fiber which keeps the intestinal track healthy.
6) Lady Fingers helps in reducing risks of deadly diseases like cancer.

The P3 are given the privilege this year to explore their interest in any CCA. The boys have the chance to join any groups to see if they like that particular CCA before they give their confirmation by next year. For the past 2 weeks, I have been looking around for CCA which Zenden can join. Maybe you are wondering, why am I the one looking out for him? Isn't him suppose to go for what he like? Perhaps you may feel that I am not giving him much choice but to be honest, from his schedule, I guess it is only right for me to narrow down the list of CCA for him, else...he may be drain out in time to come.

I have opt out all the uniform groups because out of 5 school days, he need to stay back at least 2 days after school ( That have not include Sat )...So to say, out of 7 days...3 days are set aside for his CCA. One thing about St. Andrew is that they have longer schooling hours compared to the other schools. Every Monday to Thursday, they dismissed at 1.25pm and Friday 3.00 pm. Can you imagine, to stay back for afternoon practise for 2 more days can really tired him out. Moreover, all the P3 are having extra lessons after school every Thursday till 3.30pm so if I will to let him join those CCA, he is basically staying in school from 7am to 3.00pm almost everyday.

I thank God that Zenden is obedient to listen to my advise. After much consideration, I decided to let him go for Choir. My reasons :

1) The CCA timing is ok. Every Friday morning (During school hours) + 2 hours on Sat. morning.

2) The Choir include Drama stage performance, something which Zenden like.

3) St. Andrew is well-known for their Choir besides Rugby. The boys will also have the opportunity to embark on overseas exposure trips. They have been to Sydney,Brisbane and Japan in the past years.

After making the decision, I spoke to some of the parents. I found out they too have the same concern as me (so I am not the only one..Haha!) Guess what, most of them placed their boys in the Choir also. *LOL*

Zenden have attended 3 lessons thus far and as of today, he enjoy himself during his Choir practise. :-D

The children love watching Spongebob cartoon. we have several CDs at home and it is almost like the children are so familiar with the cartoons till they are able to memorise the lines. Sometimes, I do watch together with them. I kinda of like Spongebob too because he gives me an impression that no matter how life is going or will be, he is always holding that Positive Big Smile on his face. His smile remind me of God. God will make all things beautiful in His time and we need to trust Him for that. :-D

Have you ever gathered together with another 1 or 2 friends to show "Concern" about another friend of yours? Many times, we thought our discussion is a way of showing "Concern" to the other friend of ours but truly, most of the time, it is gossiping. Perhaps we don't realise that or perhaps gossiping is so common in this modern world, that we feel that there is nothing wrong to gossip.

Like many others, I also gossip. Sometime, it comes so natural that...I don't even realise it. I used to think it's ok, who don't gossip anyway? It was until I held a devotion book 2 nights ago that I began to realise "It is not OK!". The book belongs to Zenden and was on our desk. Thinking of doing some reading, I took it and flipped open the book and my eyes fell on this...

"But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken." - Matthew 12:36

These are the actual words from Jesus...and all along, I seems to miss out this sentence when reading the bible. However, that night, these words seem to "Shine Out" from the entire chapter. I paused. I paused for quite a while...reflecting on these words and started asking myself in my heart...Is that how I want when I come face to face with Jesus on my judgment day? Definitely NO!

Then, I was led to another in Proverb 11:13 which says "A gossip betrays a confidence...",
"When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise."-Proverb 10:19.

I think God want me to learn something. He is trying to tell me, what I think is OK, is not OK to Him even though the gossip seems harmless. He said it clearly in His words.

Now that He made His word clear, the ball is in my court to obey. Of cos, it is not going to be easy and that is why I need Him to help me to walk in obedience.

Today, our class celebrated Jeremiah birthday. Together with the rest of the kids, we sang him the Birthday song. I did not get a cake this time round, having in mind the trouble to cut and distribute. So, decided on mini donuts so that the kids are able to take & go. Save time + Save paper plates = save environment. Yeah!

I love cupcakes, do you? I enjoy baking and giving these cuppies to others too. I realised when you give someone something which is "Sweet", they tend to be happier or at least, the smile on their face would be brighter. Agree?

Well, this is why I got my blogskin change. Wanted to brighten my readers' mood thru looking at the beautiful cuppies and of cos, wanted to share wonderful thoughts here. Nevertheless, we do at times blog something sad but afterall, who would want sadness > than happiness? None, I believe.

Another production by I theatre which I will not miss to bring the boys.
I always feel that it's worth the money to bring them to watch such educational show. It teaches them to love environment and care for the earth.

Don't know where to bring your kid during March holiday? Why not, go for this..I am sure they will love it!

Having said that, I better book mine fast before it's too late. *hee hee*

Zenden's deciduous teeth (aka milk teeth) was extracted out on Monday. His maxillary central incisor was very shaky since weeks ago. I asked him to get it out once and for all in his school dentist but he simply refused.
He left me with no other choice but to make an appointment with DP Dental to get it out on Monday afternoon. I must say the dentist who attended to him - a real professional. What makes me say so? cos she can make up story while she is working on his tooth, just to distract him from the pain. It takes her abt less than 5 mins to get it done. In other words, I am paying $45 to listen to her 5 minutes story. *LOL*
After examined, she told me that his other incisor is also going to fall out soon, in about another 1 to 2 weeks time. So I turned to Zen...

Me: "Boy, how about extract the other one now since we are here?" (Actually I wanted to save on the consultation charges...haha)

Zen: " No............" (knitting his eyebrown)

Expected to get that response. >.<

So next Monday will be another round of story telling. *LOL*

I am glad I SURVIVE! I mean for this stressful week. Of cos, I know it's the grace of God...and THANK YOU, Lord Jesus!

Right. How I wish. If only I can blame it on my PC.
Office is full of stress this week. Reason: Shipment delay! Got chased and yelled by client like every 2 hourly since Monday. And now, there is still no sight of goods. *Sigh*
I wish I can yelled back at someone but what is the point? It doesn't solve the problem.
It wasn't the fault on factory part, it wasn't the fault on our part, it wasn't the fault of the forwarder...it is just so timely that my container was pulled down from USA port for security examination, a security tightening due to festive season. We were not the only one affected. A few containers were pulled down as well. This causes tremendous delay for a month. *Double sigh*

Least, I can yell here..."AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It's the beginning of a new school term. The alarm went off at 5.30am. No time to laze around...got up and get ready to wake Zenden for school. It wasn't hard to get him out of the bed this morning.By 6.25am, we are ready to head for school and it was raining.

Managed to drop him off inside the school compound and accompanied him to the side staircase leading to the Hall. Without looking back, he hurried to find his schoolmates. Guess he is all excited and it is good to be back in school once again.
